New England Equine Rescues

... equines needing homes.

ALL NEER horses go with a legally binding contract.  If you are selling, lending, leasing, borrowing, or giving a horse away without a contract, then you could well be contributing to that horse's slaughter!!   If you need ANY help with a contract, PLEASE ASK!!  If we don't have it, we can get it!

And PLEASE remember..."I want him/her for my daughter/grand daughter to ride."...is THE oldest line in the book!

PLEASE do your homework!!  Please find out who your giving or selling your horse to...so that we don't all have to be sad when the horse you loved, who you THOUGHT you were giving to someone good, ends up on the slaughterhouse floor.

Please...

If a woman named Cathy from CT (eastern) calls you looking to get a horse for a young girl for (insert sob story here)...check her out VERY carefully!!  She talks a great line, promises a good home, and then will sell your horse to the meatman!  It has been done.  If you want more info, PLEASE ASK!!!  We have an extensive list of 'bad people' to stay away from, if you really care about where your horse goes.   And if we don't know, we will find out!

Santa Fe is looking for his next home. He is a quarter horse gelding, registered with AQHA and his birth date is May 1989. 16H.   He is quiet and gentle on the ground and in the saddle. He has doen it all Barrel Race, Western Pleasure, trail ride, and sits in the pasture eating treats. He is being ridden by a teenager and old mom.  Santa Fe will make some one a great trail horse or Western/English Pleasure Horse. On the trails does not spook and is fine leading or following as long as there is someone with him. This is my son’s horse, but my son has decided to move on to other activities. Santa Fe would be a good match for a confident beginner or an experienced rider. I am asking $1200 that is negotiable. Please call for more information or to meet Santa Fe 401-440-3908, cell: 401-440-3908.

Tanner is a  Bay yearling  colt b/d: 2/8/07. Father 1/2 arab/1/2 shetland, mother 12.3 grade paint (pictures can be provided).  Haven't had him gelded yet (planned to last fall) as he just barely dropped the second testicle. Beautiful gaits on this fellow, he will mature to 12.3-13H. Very tiny face. Mother is an excellent driving pony and both parents can be ridden by small (150#) adults. Tanner has been handled from birth but is skiddish in nature, needs someone with more time than I have to handle him every day. He leads well, he is always at the gate when it's time to come in but can be hard to catch in a pasture situation midday. If you take grain out and he's alone or in small group you can catch mid day.  Otherwise removing paturemates first he will "line up" and catch fine. With consistency this should improve.  Once on lead he will tie fine.  Because of his nervous nature  he needs an experienced owner. He is good with his feet and has been body clipped. He also (beleive it or not) allowed me to clean his sheath twice without any problems). A good boy just very cautious in nature. Needs someone to handle him all over daily for a bit.  I'm afraid I won't be able to give this guy the attention he needs with a young grandson in tow. For sale to experienced owner for $500 Firm (with a gelding agreement only), I will have my vet out to geld and do followup care for that price if 1/3 sent as deposit  in advance.  I'll probably be able to geld him in a month or two if he isn't sold by then. He is good with other horses, currently with above pony in same paddock as he's been segregated from the girls and locked behind round pen panels temporarity when turned out (no more foals wanted!) He does respect elec fence tho and once gelded would turn out with any horse.  This is going to be a gorgeous pony.

I am only asking $600 a piece for them or if someone wants both I will take $1000 for them (they are one day apart in age). I have raised them since birth and they are gelded and up to date on shots and coggins until April. I have done all kinds of groundwork with them, walked over tarps, draped tarps on them, saddled with an english saddle but no rider, teaching to lunge, lead, load, trailers well, clips but they do not tie or bathe yet. They will be two this May. One is an Appaloosa/American Saddlebred (can be registered with the Appaloosa Sport Horse Association) and he is a bay roan with a blanket on the butt...

The other is a Morgan/Spotted Saddle Horse (sorrel with blaze and three sock) and both should mature to 15+ hands.

Triton:

8 year old gelding, percheron/quarter horse, 15.3 hands.  Currently jumping 2.6-3 feet.  Very willing horse, but, needs someone that has the time to put into working him.  Works best when he is with other horses, but, once again, if someone has the time to put into him, that could change. He has been trained by my 12 year old english.  I have ridden him western, but, he is better at english.  My 7 year old W/T/C on him and he is fine with her also.  He cross ties, trailers, is good for Ferrier.  He is barefoot and has only needed to have hooves trimmed a couple times.  He has awesome feet.  He is also UTD on everything.

$4500 for Triton.  If he gets sold through this site I will donate 5-10% of selling price to NEER....

Registered Arab colt...

Fin McCool is registered half-Arab bay yearling stud colt.

His sire is *Stanislav, and you can see him here: http://www.dacapoacres.com/Stanislav.html?1138469650750

His dam is MA Red Hot Chili Pepper.  She's out of Toi Soldier - http://www.liveoakarabians.com/stallions/toi/index.html.

I've been working with him on ground manners - he has his moments, but is pretty good for the most part.  NOT aggressive in the least.  He was a whopper of a foal and is already as tall as his dam (about 14.3).  Strong bone, good shoulder, lovely movement.  VERY personable - loves getting kisses.  For someone who is looking for an endurance project, I think he'd be perfect.

Price is $2000 negotiable.  Dam is on premises.
